For months now parents have had to learn and adjust to working at home while taking care of their kids.
And with the school year approaching now more than ever it’s important to set some guidelines at home.
First of, adjust your schedule so you can work around your child depending on their age and whether they have a nap time or school work.
Next, it’s important to have a designated space where your kids know that when you’re in that seat, table or office that you are at work so they won’t interrupt, which we all know can be easier said than done.
So, be creative with how you prevent boredom with your kids so they won’t interrupt you. You can schedule a day of activities for them so they have a schedule to stick too as well.
With that, make sure you’re providing a balance of screen time between education and entertainment so they can focus a little bit more.
Most importantly, make sure you’re transparent with your boss so they can help accommodate you.
“Anytime a parent had a child who called in sick to school, they know this challenge right because they had to call them to work themselves and stay home and work remotely. So they’ve had a taste of this juggling act. This balancing act but not continuously for multiple months at a time.
